Fly With Arik Air
Getting to know Arik Air
This Nigerian airline was launched in 2002 after founder, Sir Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide noticed a gap in the market for a reliable and efficient carrier to transport businesspeople across the country. As a businessman himself he had noticed that transportation in Nigeria was largely unreliable, making it difficult for cross-country (and cross-border) business dealings to thrive.
For the first six years the airline operated exclusively in Nigeria, launching its first international route to Accra, Ghana in 2008 and its second to Johannesburg, South Africa in 2009. After this, a string of additional African routes were added, and more recently, flights to London and New York as well.
