Over the summer seasons which begin in November and end in March, crowds usually increase.

South Africa endorses freedom of religion in its constitution. There is no serious cultural or religious restrictions in George besides the fact that all religions should be respected.

There are groups of the African Independent Church worshippers that dress in green, blue or white robes which hold prayer meetings out in the open at the riversides or in fields.

The Pacaltsdorp Church is the oldest in the George district. The majority of the population in George are Coloured, followed by Black African and White. It is a place that has a rich history and that is something that forms part of the culture in this growing city.

George is a very safe city when compared to other neighbouring places. Even though this city is safe it is advised to remain vigilant at all times.
