Where To CrossFit In Cairo?

As CrossFit is another sports trend that is fast growing now in Egypt, writing about where to CrossFit in Cairo was a must. So what is CrossFit? CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program mainly focusing on constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement, it’s a mix of aerobic exercise, high-intensity interval training, gymnastics (body weight exercises), and Olympic weight lifting. CrossFit gyms use equipment from multiple disciplines, including barbells, dumbbells, gymnastics rings, pull-up bars, jump ropes, kettlebells, medicine balls, plyo boxes, resistance bands, rowers, and various mats.

CrossFit is suitable for everyone, even if you are a beginner crossfitter, or new to working-out you don’t need to worry, as  you will be taken through every movement, and will be shown the exact techniques to perform a workout injury-free, special attention is always given to newbies, however due to its high intensity “the workout is a big no joke”, don’t expect it to be aerobics, or zumba like, be prepared for insanely sore muscles, be ready to be challenged, and to be short of breath, yet the results are REWARDING. All you need to maintain is a positive attitude, keep pushing your limits, and most of all performing the right technique rather than increasing the lifted weight, paying close attention, and committing to every word the coach says.

To see results, and decrease your chances of injury and continuous fatigue; you should commit yourself to workout at least 3 times a week while maintaining a clean healthy diet, and a good night sleep. The coolest thing about Crossfit is how it’s practiced in groups, and how diverse it is, you can never predict what the next WOD (workout of the day) would be, or how good/bad will you perform. Terms that you must know: WOD stands for Workout Of The Day, AMRAP stands for As Many Rounds As Possible, For Time WOD means you time how long does it take you to complete all the rounds, Partner WOD means to split the workout between you and your partner so if you are asked to do  a 100 squats he does 50 and you do 50, and you are free to decide how are you going to split them -in groups of 5s, 10s, 20s, it’s your decision. As new as I am to CrossFit there must be other terms that I am still not familiar with, so let’s wait and see what else am I going to learn as I become less novice to the World of CrossFit.
